Interview Jared Padalecki iFMagazine
Jared Padalecki: "So far I went really dark for one episode, but we’re going to see the 180-degree opposite of Sam, as you know him. I’m really proud of that because Sam was a little too cookie cutter, law school, college boy, so it’s nice to be seeing the opposite side of him."
Padalecki: "No. That keeps it fun for me, because when you start doing things that don’t involve real relationships you’re acting for no reason. When you get back to a true relationship and two characters who care about each other above all else, you can relate to it more and it makes more sense everything matters that much more. So I guess the answer is, I love arguing with Jensen [Ackles]." [Laughs]
Padalecki: "I don’t know. [Eric] Kripke and the writing gang keep things from us and want to keep Jensen and Jared in the same boat that Sam and Dean are in. I think that’s there plan, and they want us to not know where we’re going to be next week or next month or what the plan is for the future. It’s acting well by default, because they really don’t tell us what is coming up. Plus, when you’re shooting every day, first scene to last scene you really don’t have time to worry about the next episodes."
Padalecki: "I want to see the shadow man! It was a Twilight Zone character that got developed into a TV movie that my Dad and I would always watch and it’s about a shadow man that’s loyal to a kid and takes care of him. If bullies pick on the kid all of a sudden the bully is gone forever and you don’t know what happened to him. Then one-day shadow man turns on him for no apparent reason. So I loved that idea. Of course, then there’s the monster under the bed that I’d love to see. There are tons of classics that I hope we get around to."
Padalecki: "She was a sweetheart. She’s so professional and she’s a very, very talented chick. She was really fun to work with. It was one of those situations where we have some really crazy episodes, and Jensen and I being the only series regulars, a lot hinges on our guest stars. If they aren’t good, then the episode falls apart. So the fact that she was so good and had been on a show for so long really was apparent when she was working with us. She really was just a lot of fun to work with."
Padalecki: "Dead." [Laughs]
Padalecki: "Yeah. I think there’s something majestic about seeing them going out in a blaze."
Padalecki: [Laughs] "No. I’d really want to see them die. I feel that somehow or another death is the only escape for them."
